Tired or Tried - Yet Purpose Driven

Writer: Donna BaxterDonna Baxter

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 (NLT)

God has a purpose for every believer and a greater purpose for his people collectively as the body of Christ. It can be difficult, as Christians, knowing God's will and purpose for your life. Many people try hard to figure it out by seeking out self-help books and otherworldly resources. The only way to truly know God's will is to stay connected with the source: God Himself. As this verse says, we are God's possession, His chosen people. His will is for us to live in the light; He called us out of the darkness and transferred us into the wonderful light. So, His purpose is for us to glorify Him.

When we live in His will and seek to glorify and honor Him, we will experience joy, peace, and satisfaction.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for choosing me and loving me as your own. May I always live in your will and seek to honor and glorify you. Amen.
